Ayu News Recap, December 2009 25 December 2009

I’m finally back, everyone! And BOY have I missed alot of news. Here’s a basic summary of what all’s been happening, I’ll add more details later on – after all, it’s Christmas and I got a family to hang with. :)

BALLAD PV

A low-quality online streamed version of the “BALLAD” PV (directed by “Together When…” and “part of Me” director Takahide Ishii) leaked on the 11th. The video didn’t air on TV until a few weeks later, and an HD version is now out. The plot & symbolism of the PV have been a large point of discussion at fansites like AHS. (In my opinion it’s one of her best PVs in a long time).

BEST ARTIST LIVE

Ayu performed “You were…” and “evolution” at the Best Artist Live TV special, and the performance of “evolution” was apparently so spectacularly bad that celebrity gossip LJ community ohnotheydidnt even posted a youtube video of it. Ayu herself apologized on her TA blog for the epic fail.

BEA’S UP AND VIVI SCANS

Scans were released for Bea’s Up January 2010 and Vivi February 2010 magazines.

RED LINE

A “RED LINE” chaku-uta preview came out a few days go, giving us a cheerful mid-tempo song.

YOU WERE…/BALLAD SCREENSAVER & WALLPAPERS

The official TeamAyu screensaver for the new single came out yesterday (several days earlier than expected), as did official wallpapers on Ayu’s avex website (the first time official wallpapers have been released by avex and not HMV or Lycos or someone like that…. maybe ever, but I’m really not certain).
